It was a bitterly cold and windy morning in Dunderry for this Rd 1 of AFL Div2 clash was between local rivals Dunderry and Trim these 2 teams know each other very well no quarter was asked or given. Both teams were slightly under strength with key personnel missing but this gave the opportunity for some young lads to debut. Trim opened the scoring with a point in the 2nd min but Dunderry replied with a fine point from Conor Dempsey in the 4th min, the visitors scored again in the 11th min but Dermot Kelly replied in the 12th min from a free. Dunderry took the lead with a Marc Kane point in the 17th min but Trim levelled in the 18th min and took the lead with points in the 21st, 24th and 25th, Luke Martyn pulled a point back in the 27th min but again Trim scored the final point of the half leaving the score 0-4 to 0-7 to Trim.
2nd half saw Dunderry open with a point from sub Adam Kelly but Trim added points in the 38th, 42nd and 49th mins, Donagh O'Laoire scored a well taken point for Dunderry in the 41st min. Trim scored 2 more points in the 51st and 54th mins then A.Kelly scored a free in the 54th min that was the last score of the game with Trim taking the points 0-7 to 0-12.
