Dunderry 4-18 Donaghmore/Ashbourne 1-8
Dunderry maintained their 100% league record with superb win away in Ashbourne last night.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 3rd minute from Conor Farrell. The team in Black and White followed this up 1-3 in the next 6 minutes, a free from Jamie Leavy, a superb long range point from Conor O'Shea and a point from Stephen Coogan before a flowing team goal from Dermot Kelly which involved Aaron Feeney, O'Shea, Coogan to open up a seven point gap.
Dunderry were relentless for the remainder of the half. Liam Dempsey and extended the lead before The Moores got off the mark after 18 minutes but Dunderry found the net twice more through Coogan and Conor Farrell to go in at the break 3-11 to 0-2 in front.
The home side got the opening two scores of the second half but Coogan replied with a fine score in the 36th minute followed by Dempsey's 3rd point in. Goalkeeper Mickey Dowdall's puck outs were also having a telling effect on the scoreboard with Coogan, Dylan Keenan and Farrell profiting from his pinpoint accuracy.
Keenan scored a well worked goal in the 54th minute and Farrell finished off a superb performance with two late points to seal a comfortable win, on a plus note it was great to see a number of players return from injury.
